Fly line by fishing style
Read more about choosing the right fly line
Fly lines are one of the most important parts of the entire setup and often determine how your rod will actually perform during casting. At Thymallus, you’ll find fly lines sorted by how they really behave in the water – from Floating, through Hover and Intermediate, all the way to Sink Tip and full Sinking models for dry fly, nymphing, streamer fishing, stillwater and coastal fishing.
When choosing a fly line, it’s not only about the AFTMA number printed on the rod. In real fishing, the specific rod, head profile, fishing technique and type of water often matter just as much. Some rods perform better with a line one size heavier, while others work best with a finer or more aggressive taper. At Thymallus, we don’t just look at the label – we focus on how the setup actually behaves during casting and presentation.
Our range includes fly lines for beginners and experienced anglers alike – from versatile floating models to intermediate, sink tip and full sinking lines for situations where you need to fish deeper or control your fly more precisely in a specific layer of water.
If you’re not sure which line to choose, we’ll be happy to help based on your rod, fishing technique and type of water – so the line is not only “correct on paper”, but actually works in practice.
