Tungsten and brass beads and heads for fly tying
Beads and heads influence the weight, sink rate and overall balance of a fly. This collection includes primarily tungsten heads for faster sinking and lighter brass options for a more delicate presentation.
Tungsten or brass
Tungsten has a higher density and adds more weight at the same size, so it is commonly used for nymphs and patterns that need to reach the bottom quickly. Brass heads are lighter and work well where a slower sink or more subtle presentation is preferred.
Slotted, Regular, Jig Off and Heavy Body
Slotted heads have a slot and are especially suitable for jig hooks. Regular is the classic round design without a slot. Jig Off allows you to work with an offset centre of gravity, while Heavy Body adds weight directly to the fly body.
Choosing size and colour effect
When choosing a head, consider hook size, the desired sink rate and the appearance of the pattern. Available filters let you narrow the selection by head material, opening shape, size and colour effect.
