How does the 40/40/20 taper work?
The first 40% (butt) is the thicker section that receives energy from the fly line. The next 40% (taper) narrows gradually to help the leader turn over. The final 20% (tippet) is the fine section used to attach the fly. This profile helps produce accurate casts and gentle presentations.
STC – Smooth Tech Coating
According to VARIVAS, STC reduces surface friction and water absorption while improving suppleness, durability and service life. The water-repellent coating is fluorine-free and PFOA-free.
