VARIVAS Super Tippet Master Spec PRO Fluorocarbon is a Japanese fluorocarbon tippet developed with an emphasis on exceptional softness and suppleness. Compared with stiffer conventional fluorocarbon tippets, it is easier to manage and allows a more delicate, natural fly presentation. Its handling comes closer to nylon while retaining characteristic fluorocarbon qualities such as abrasion resistance, knot strength and sensitivity.

Softer fluorocarbon for delicate fly fishing
VARIVAS highlights that the additional suppleness makes this fluorocarbon usable even for dry-fly fishing, where conventional stiff fluorocarbon can be awkward to handle. For traditional dry-fly fishing, however, Thymallus still recommends nylon as the first choice: fluorocarbon is denser and the tip section is more inclined to sink below the surface. We recommend Master Spec PRO especially where a soft, manageable fluorocarbon is desirable for subsurface fishing or other techniques demanding sensitive presentation.
