When to choose nylon instead of fluorocarbon?
Nylon is more elastic and softer than fluorocarbon. For dry flies and delicate presentations this can be an advantage – the tippet behaves more naturally and cushions sudden runs better. For techniques where faster sinking and the lowest possible underwater visibility are the priority, fluorocarbon has the advantage.
