LOOP Anorak – lightweight waterproof SympaTex® shell
LOOP Anorak is a minimalist waterproof jacket designed as a lightweight outer shell for rain, wind and demanding conditions on the water. Its 3-layer SympaTex® membrane combines waterproof protection, wind resistance and breathability with a design in which LOOP deliberately omits a full-length front zip.

When you are far from civilisation
On a multi-day trip, every piece of gear matters. The LOOP Anorak can be packed into its own chest pocket and pulled out when the wind or rain arrives. Its simple construction uses fewer components and creates a continuous protective front without a main zip. This concept makes particular sense on expeditions, when fishing from a boat or during long days far from the car.
Why no front zip – and what is the trade-off?
The lack of a full-length front zip is not an oversight but a deliberate part of the design. Fewer zips and fittings mean a simpler, more compact jacket and fewer hard components on the front that can catch a fly line.
There is a trade-off: the Anorak has to be pulled on over the head and cannot simply be opened for rapid ventilation during active movement like a conventional jacket. It therefore suits anglers who value simple, packable weather protection more than the convenience of a full-zip shell.
Three colours, three different characters
The LOOP Anorak is available in Dark Grey, Petrol and Warm Yellow. The purchase options show only the variants currently available from Thymallus.
Dark Grey is the more discreet option on the water. Petrol keeps the distinctive LOOP look without extreme contrast. Warm Yellow is for anglers who want to be highly visible – for example when fishing from a belly boat or boat, where a bright colour can help other water users notice the angler sooner. It is not certified high-visibility safety clothing.
A colour that stands out
LOOP's bright colours are not only interesting on the water. In photos and video, the angler does not disappear into vegetation, rocks and water but remains a strong visual element in the frame. Warm Yellow can therefore make sense not only for visibility on open water, but also for anglers who bring photos and video home from their trips.
