What poppers and streamers are they suitable for?
The Howitzer is designed primarily for surface flies that imitate baitfish. Its rear socket allows you to integrate a tied body or connected articulated shanks, letting the tail move naturally below the surface. The heads can also be used for simpler, single-hook poppers.
What's included? Only the separate foam heads in the selected size. 3D eyes, hooks, articulated shanks and other fly-tying materials are not included. The photo of a finished popper illustrates one possible use.

Topwater fishing – adrenaline with every cast
Fishing for predators with poppers is one of the most exciting kinds of fly fishing I've experienced. Larger poppers in particular call for a more powerful fly rod in a higher AFTMA line class. Casting and working them takes effort, but the experience is worth it.
A short, forceful strip of the fly line makes the popper disturb the surface, producing its unmistakable splash and popping sound – an invitation for a predator to strike.
But the best part comes next. The fly stays in sight, and with every cast you find yourself waiting to see what happens. You watch the water, every movement and every strip, knowing a strike could come at any moment.
When it does, it's unforgettable. A large predator can seem to explode through the surface to grab the popper. Sometimes the strike comes at the last possible moment, right at your feet.
Those are the moments that make you forget how tired you are and cast again.
