Fly fishing hooks should be selected mainly by fly type, size, shape, wire strength and eye type. At Thymallus you will find hooks for dry flies, nymphs, jig nymphs, wet flies, emergers, streamers, salmon and predator patterns, including barbless models.

Hooks for dry flies, nymphs and jig nymphs

Dry flies usually call for lighter hooks with a shape that helps the fly sit correctly on the surface. For nymphs and jig nymphs, bend shape, eye position and compatibility with a tungsten bead are important. Jig hooks help the nymph ride hook point up and reduce the risk of snagging the bottom.

Streamer and predator hooks

For streamers, strength, shank length and overall hook geometry matter. Larger streamer, salmon and predator hooks need to handle bulkier materials as well as higher loads when fighting fish.

Barbless hooks and barbed hooks

Barbless hooks allow faster and gentler fish release. Barbed models are also available. You can refine your selection using filters for fly type, hook shape, size, eye type, finish and barb.
