UST Short is the most advanced short Scandi shooting head ever produced by Scientific Anglers. Its compact head, Seamless Density construction, and textured surface allow you to fish your fly at the correct depth, speed, and angle—no matter where it sits in the water column.
Instead of using an abrupt density jump, which often creates unwanted hinging during the cast or excessive drag in the water, the density is carefully blended. The result is a shooting head that sinks straight and predictably, exactly the way it casts. This design was developed in close cooperation with European salmon and sea trout anglers, refined through hundreds of hours of design work, testing, and real-world use.
