The Dryfly model is designed for river and stillwater
trout fishing. Lightweight, balanced and precise, its large arbour
construction provides rapid line retrieval and helps keep the angler

The COTW Opti Reel family
COTW represents the latest chapter in the LOOP Opti story, combining
nature-inspired finishes with the proven engineering of one of LOOP's
best-known fly reel designs.
Dryfly – for river and stillwater fishing
The Dryfly is designed around a #5 line and is intended
for trout and grayling fishing on rivers and stillwaters. Its lightweight
and balanced construction makes it particularly well suited to modern
single-hand trout setups.
The large arbour V-shaped spool provides rapid line retrieval while
reducing line memory and improving line handling on the water.
Thymallus recommends it for modern euro nymphing too
Based on our practical experience, the Opti Dryfly is very
well suited in both size and weight for French nymphing and modern euro
nymphing. At 129 g, it balances longer nymph rods very well,
especially rods from around 305 cm (10 ft) and longer.
Although the name Dryfly refers to dry fly fishing, its low weight, large
arbour and overall balance also make it a very interesting choice for modern
nymphing techniques, where a light and well-controlled setup is important.
Power Matrix Drag System
The fully waterproof Power Matrix Drag System uses
marine-grade components and carbon discs to deliver smooth, powerful
resistance with virtually no start-up inertia.
Colour options
Twilight Violet is inspired by the atmosphere of evenings
by the water, when colours soften, the light slowly fades and the day on the
river draws to a close.
Aurora Turquoise combines a fresh turquoise spool with a
contrasting metallic frame, giving the reel a bold modern look.
