Cortland Ghost Tip 15 is a full fly line designed for situations where you need to present flies just below the surface down to the mid-water column without unnecessarily spooking fish. Thanks to its 15 ft clear intermediate tip and high-floating running line, it delivers a very natural and stealthy presentation in clear lakes and rivers.
This line is an excellent choice for stillwater fly anglers, but it also performs very well in rivers when targeting cautious fish and you do not want to fish too deep while keeping your fly in the upper to middle water column. It works especially well with nymphs, small to medium streamers, and other subsurface patterns, particularly when fishing over weed beds, drop-offs, or other underwater structure.
Ghost Tip 15 has a total length of 90 ft (approx. 27.4 m) and a 37 ft head (approx. 11.3 m). The taper is built from a 5 ft front taper (approx. 1.5 m), a 27 ft body (approx. 8.2 m), and a 5 ft back taper (approx. 1.5 m). The running line measures 53 ft (approx. 16.2 m). This construction provides very good loop control, accuracy, and easy handling whether you are fishing from shore or from a boat.
The 15 ft clear intermediate tip section (approx. 4.6 m) sinks at 1.5–2 IPS, making it an excellent choice for subsurface tactics in clear water. The line is built on a monofilament core, features a Weight Forward taper, dual welded loops, and uses Cortland Shooting Technology for smooth, quick, and very pleasant casting. Thanks to a core designed for stable performance in cold water, the line stays straighter, straightens more easily after uncoiling, and offers more confident control while fishing.
