Why is Gulff Duck The Floatant different?
Unlike many standard products, Gulff Duck The Floatant is based on a new three-component technology that provides long-lasting fly floatation without unnecessarily overloading delicate materials. Its crystal-clear formula helps preserve and visually enhance the original colours of the fly, which is especially useful with fine and realistic dry fly patterns.
The product was developed in cooperation with anglers specialised in dry fly fishing, safety consultants, and Nordic experts from Sweden and Finland, where precise dry fly presentation is often essential.
Safety and practical use
Gulff is one of the brands that also focuses on user safety when it comes to chemical products. The product includes the required safety labels and warnings according to applicable European and international standards, and it is equipped with a childproof cap.
Under the cap, there is a fine precision applicator that allows you to apply the floatant exactly where needed – without unnecessary mess and without making the fly sticky. This makes handling easier on the water and gives you better control over how much product is actually applied.
How to use floatant on dry flies
Apply a small amount of floatant to the dry fly and allow it to absorb briefly into the material. Gently remove any excess, then fish as normal. If the fly sinks below the surface during fishing in faster current or while actively skating or twitching the fly, a small lift of the rod tip is often enough to bring it back up to the surface.
Depending on the fly pattern and the time spent fishing, the fly may remain ready for use even later without needing immediate reapplication.
A quality dry fly floatant helps your fly keep a natural presentation on the surface film, stay afloat longer, and perform more reliably even in demanding fishing conditions.
