LOOP Evotec G5 – the fifth generation of a proven fly reel
The LOOP Evotec G5 is a versatile and highly durable fly reel
designed for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. The fifth generation of the
Evotec series builds on decades of continuous technical refinement, combining
a smooth drag system, a large-arbour spool and a precision-machined,
corrosion-resistant construction.
At the heart of the reel is the Power Matrix Drag System,
which delivers smooth and consistent braking performance when fighting powerful fish.
The drag provides precise control during sudden runs, when dependable and finely
adjustable resistance is essential.

Power Matrix Drag System
The Power Matrix drag system is designed to engage smoothly and maintain stable
performance throughout the fight. It helps protect the leader from sudden overload
while providing sufficient braking power for large and hard-fighting fish.
Marine Grade seals protect the drag mechanism from water and contamination.
Combined with corrosion-resistant materials, they make the reel suitable for rivers,
lakes and demanding saltwater environments.
Large-arbour spool for faster line control
The large spool diameter enables faster line retrieval and helps reduce pronounced
line memory. This allows the angler to react more quickly when a fish changes direction,
recover loose line and maintain better contact throughout the fight.
The ergonomic handle provides a secure grip in wet or cold conditions.
An integrated leader retainer makes it easier to secure the end of the outfit
while travelling or storing the rod.
From large rivers to saltwater
The Evotec G5 series includes models for lighter trout outfits, stillwater fishing,
switch and two-handed rods, as well as demanding fishing for large species.
Individual sizes differ in spool diameter, spool depth, capacity and weight.
Three sizes are currently available. The FW 3/5 is the lightest
Featherweight model and is intended primarily for trout and grayling.
The FW 5/7 offers greater capacity for larger trout,
stillwater fishing and lighter fishing for salmonids.
The largest HD 9/13 is the Heavy Duty version for heavy fly lines,
substantial backing capacity, powerful two-handed outfits and the most demanding
fishing situations.
