A floating WF line for modern fast-action fly rods
Greys Platinum X Float is a floating weight-forward fly line designed for modern fast-action fly rods. Its medium-length, full-size heavy head efficiently loads the rod, transfers energy smoothly into the leader and supports accurate casting without sacrificing sensitivity during fly presentation.
Three-colour line layout
The individual sections of the line are distinguished by three colours. The white running line transitions into a salmon orange head, while the front section and tip are grey. This colour separation makes it easier to identify the position of the head and judge how much line is outside the rod guides.
The smooth and supple coating has low memory, while the thin running line supports effortless handling, smooth passage through the guides and efficient distance casting. Welded loops at both ends make it easy to connect the leader and backing.

Platinum X and the original Greys Platinum
Greys Platinum X Float is a separate model and does not replace the original
Greys Platinum Float.
The original Platinum uses a shorter line design with a total length of 90 ft / 27.4 m. Platinum X has a total length of 105 ft / 32 m, a medium-length head and separately colour-coded front, head and running-line sections.
Technical specifications
Head weight and head length vary by AFTMA rating so that each line size provides suitable loading for the corresponding fly rod class.
