Whiting Farms Coq de Leon Silver Saddle – premium feathers for tails, streamers and larger flies
Whiting Farms Coq de Leon Silver Saddle is an exceptionally versatile
fly tying material combining long saddle feathers with the distinctive mottled appearance
of Coq de Leon. The feathers provide good length, stiff fibres and a wide range of applications
for both freshwater and larger streamer patterns.
Coq de Leon saddles are particularly useful for dry fly and nymph tails,
larger dry fly hackle, Woolly Bugger patterns and streamers.
Their combination of long feathers, durable fibres and distinctive markings makes them

Versatile Coq de Leon feather
Coq de Leon saddles provide a broad range of feathers suitable for several fly tying techniques.
Longer feathers can be used as hackle on larger flies and streamers, while the stiffer fibres
are excellent for tails and other components where shape and definition are important.
The characteristic grizzly markings add natural structure and contrast to the fly.
Dyed versions combine these markings with strong colours, making them useful when a pattern
requires a more visible trigger.
